R20 programming ?

Hopefully someday I can help answer some questions on here but for the time being I have another question.
Title should have said R20

Trying to program some freq. into the memory banks
1. I am in the VFO mode and I manually type the freq. in .
2. I hold the MR/ S. MW button down till it beeps.
3. But the original freq. I typed in now isn't showing on the screen , it shows a previous freq. from the first bank number I typed in B-01 ,and doesnt let me input what I want. So therefore it isn't imputing what I typed in only what is displayed.

I have owned my IC R20 for several years and gave up trying to program it manually. I bought the Icom software to program it, and have finally gotten some use out of the scanner. I am sure somebody can manually program this radio, but it is not me.

I finally figured it out.
I wasn't moving up to the next channel after I held the MR SMW button.
