Default Data Port

Does any one know of any programs that use the Data Port on the 2500? I would like to use my Data port but really dont know what it is used for.

Hi Brian,

The Data Port on the 2500 connects to the D-Star (DV) Module, it is used to connect a GPS to process the NMEA Messages. A D-Star module is required to use this...

The PCR-2500 PDF document explains the RS232 configuration on page 43...

This information could tell you the LAT and LON location of the user as well as their speed, altitude and direction...

With my programs, if you had a D-Star Module installed, you would see this information on the D-Dtar Screen. You can even see their location (If they trasmit this data), in a window using Google Maps.
