Default ICOM IC-R10 -- How to Show Alpha Tags during Scans ?

I have a vintage IC-R10 that currently displays the frequencies while in the scanning mode. Is it possible to change the display so that it instead shows the alpha tags? The tags are displayed when manually stepping through the channels but I have not been able to have them show in the scanning mode. I could not find any reference to this issue in the op manual. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

I have one of these and I don't recall it ever being able to do what you're asking.

I haven't used mine in a long time since the squelch is screwed up- wide open.
