Default UHF N Idaho Forest Service

Dose anyone know what UHF forest service frequency that
is in use in the north Idaho area??
The reason I ask is a reference made by Idaho State troopers on
the CDA Area 3 ISP channel advising the dispatcher that the trooper
is going to swich to Forest Service frequency??
I don't know but don't believe they have vhf in the car other than
a wireless mike for evidence use.

Any Ideas????

Actually most ISP cars do have VHF capability. They typically have two RF decks (UHF and VHF) in the trunk, controlled by a single remote head on the console. For the most part, going between bands is transparent to the trooper, as all they see is the channel identifier in the display. Of course, the radio shop programs each car differently by region.

Default Isp

Thank you for that info!!! I have not had the privledge to see the inside of an
ISP car yet. I was under the impression they just had UHF 460 stuff.
I wonder if ISP has started to put a third radio in for the IIMARS system?

Thanks again for your reply, cheers
