Default Good site for frequencies for Kootenai and Spokane County

I guess I could cross post in the Washington thread, but regardless, came across this site (which hasn't been updated in a while) and have found it to be quite good. If your new to scanning and live in the Kootenai county area, this site is well worth your time.

Cool, thanks. My wife and I are hoping to move to Kootenai County (still looking for employment there), and of course I'm already working on a frequency list.

Default Great!

Well if you make it over, welcome! I have lived in Kootenai county for almost 30 years and it really is a great place to live. What kind of work are you looking for? I can keep my eyes open for you.

For scanning, we don't really have much in the way of trunked systems that I am aware of. There are some...but not a whole lot. The police traffic is not trunked. There are some frequencies that are scrambled of course (like ones for Detectives) but the majority is readily available to listen to. No digital yet. No real signs of it either (yet). Local police have a 802.11 or similar wireless network which they access from laptops in their cruisers. So if there is something they don't want heard, they will instant message one another over that, or call on the cell. Which is good for us as they still use the radios, but have the security they need when they need it, so their is no strong motivation for them to switch (I hope).

Good luck in your search for employment. I work in Spokane myself. Real close as I am sure you know and there is much more available over there in the way of work available.

Actually Kootenai County is considering a trunked 700 MHz system now, I think their looking at APCO Project 25. And the computer geeks in the area routinely peek in on that 802.11 system in Post Falls, the security on it is pretty weak from what I've been told.

But yeah, ST00 is right, almost all the cops are on UHF conventional analog wideband and the fire and medical units are on VHF conventional analog wideband. Easy scanning.
