Default Illinois Communications Guide Book ?

I was thinking of buying this book, but I noticed it was put out in 1995, and was worried that alot of stuff would be out of date.

Would it be a good book to get? Or would I be better off waiting for an updated version?

(Didn't want to get it, if alot of the freqs. are outdated.)

Are you talking about the book produced by Scanner Master?

Buy 2 copies! Buy 20!!!!!!! It slices, It dices, it helps grow hair!

Of course I am a bit biased, it's my name on the cover!

Seriously, for downstate areas it is still pretty good. Things haven't changed all that much outside a few trunked systems here and there. While I would be hesitant to suggest it as the bible it once was it still serves as a pretty good resource for much of the basic info.

There are no plans on producing an update to the 1995 Illinois Communications Guide.

If you join the CARMA list at Yahoo (http://www.carmachicago.com for more info) you can get access to the various County Profiles and other resources we have produced more recently.

LOL, Yeah, I noticed your name on it N9JIG,

I ordered your Chicago Pocket Guide yesterday. Was going to get the IL guide with it, but wanted to make sure it would be helpful first. I'll probably go ahead and order it tonight now. They have it on sale!

The downstate stuff in it will be very helpful for me.

Thanks for the info!
