Appears that Vandalia site is coming on-line with 866.4500 Mhz as control channel.

Appears that Centralia IDOC is coming on-line with 866.8250 Mhz as control channel.

Interesting that BOTH of these are pretty much full scale in the Marion County area, but NEITHER one shows up as being Motorola or EDACS on the PRO96 - no system ID, no nothing!!!

What's the new time frame for bringing the system on line? I keep hearing District-Chicago will be the one of the last to come on line? Any idea when this will happen? I have my Digital scanners all ready to go now..

The latest I have heard is that some downstate sites should be in actual use (vs. the testing now going on) this year, and that the Chicago area would start to be brought on-line hopefully by the end of 2006.

How the 800 rebanding will affect the timeline was not addressed at the last forum I was at on StarCom, but since they will both be going on at the same time this could delay it further. This might require updating our scanners as well.

The original plan in the Chicago area was to have the twin EDACS ISP systems reduced by a couple channels and reapply those channels to the StarCom system. As StarCom was populated with users from the ISP EDACS systems channels would be reassigned to StarCom until all users are switched over.

Spoke with a sgt from district 14 over the weekend, they have been informed about starcom, they havent gotten any information about the when it is supposed to come out since 2000.
They are still using the system that was set up 25 years ago with brick portables that have poor coverage and low battery life.

The database listing for STARCOM21 has been updated.

New info for the Champaign site (alternate control channel frequency), Oreana (Tower ID and control channel frequencies), and * Pesotum (Tower ID and control channel frequencies).

* Pesotum site was previously thought to be the Flatrock site in Crawford County.

Anyone monitoring the various Starcom systems with a BC796D? Any known problems receiving with this scanner?

Talkgroup 7012 has been active on the St. Clair county system. It is a rebroadcast of St. Clair Co. Sheriff channel 2, 155.76/155.415 municipality dispatch. Only hearing the dispatch side, no mobiles. Others have reported hearing animal control dispatching on this talkgroup, too, so it may be a temporary assignment.

All the additional sites have been added to RadioReference.com

Multiple Chicago area sites, many for ISP Districts 21, 20, 18, 12 & 13.

There are also new frequencies for the Illinois Toll Highway Authority, they are being licensed with the same number of mobiles, so I added them to the STARCOM21 system. (99xxx site numbers)

Feel free to double check my work for mistakes. There should be no mistakes on frequencies, they were just copy and pasted. Some counties have multiple sites with the same frequencies, so I put them all together as Multiple.

I have been monitoring these frequencies in a conventional mode and they are EDACS transmissions. How would these be utilized during testing phases of the starcom trunking while in use on the current EDACS trunked system.

Do you have any ideas what these freqs are being used for at the current time? I am particularly interested in the site in Iroquois County (Ashkum, IL) any ideas when it will become active and can I expect it to be used for the ISP district 21 located in Ashkum? Also is there any use trying to put these in my 95, will I be able to hear anything or will they be strictly digital? And if so are they mot, edacs, conv or something different?
