Default McHenry County Programing

I am trying to program my BCD396 using the UASD software with McHenry Counties frequencies. Since my scanner did not come pre-programed with the StarCom21 system, can I just enter the five control frequencies from site 1-046 into my trunking frequencies and then add the townships I want to listen to into the TGID name and hex ID colums? I may be wrong, but I was thinking that the system frequencies were broken down by county for that reason.

I just moved from MI and the whole state was on a single system so I just locked out everything but the county I wanted to listen to, but never had to do any entering. Thank you for the help.

David

Set up the Site with the freqs listed for Site 146 and enter the talkgroups you are interested in.

If you set that Site for Scan then you will only hear the talkgroups you entered, if you hit Search then you will hear all traffic on the site.

In Illinois only some agencies use StarCom21, and in McHenry County so far only a couple talkgroups have actually seen use. We know the assignments but many of them have not yet been used and may not be for quite some time.

Great, thank you very much. I thought that was the concept, but it sounded too easy. I will add the 3 control channels and the talkgroups I am interested in and see what I hear.

I will also add the regular freq's for those same townships in a different band and do a comparison too see who is using the Starcom system. Thank you both again.
