Default Joliet City Trunk REBANDED TODAY

Motorola rebanded Joliet City today dropping the freqys 15mgz PLUS, you will not receive all calls especially the ones on the 853mgz as the channel #ing was changed...You must enter the rebanding steps for Uniden and RS/GRE rebanding found in this web site and the Uniden web site in order to copy the 853 freqys....I used Win96 multi-tables and charts on the RS/GRE and Uniden manuals....Works perfect....

YES, you would have to have the upgraded ver to put in the "bandplan 1-2"to copy all the freqys as mentioned the 853 freqys only work with the upgrade from the Uniden web site....

When you say,"UPGRADE", I take it that you mean the firmware upgrade...I have it...and I'm still missing traffic on 853.700. What else am I missing?? Thanks

You must go into the menu and enter the "Bandplan1 and 2 steps, they were included with the 996t info upgrade on the Uniden web site....This allows the scanner to be able to choose the correct freqys in the trunking system otherwise the scanner keeps flickering and choosing freqy 864mgz instead of the 853mgz freqys..Motorola has with the rebanding changed the #ing structure of there trunk systems.....The same was true for the Arlington Hts NWCD system...

I live in Joliet and I have a radioshack Pro-97 that I love and am hoping that I can continue to use it. So far, I have used the singal stalker to pick up 2 channels which seem to incorporate most of east and central and some west district. However, these channels seem to by just 15 mhz below the original (I think the main one is 851.1125 (use to be 866.1125). Does this mean I will be able to hear all the traffic, or will I still be missing some? Also, in the first post, you state "You must enter the rebanding steps for Uniden and RS/GRE rebanding found in this web site". Where is that located, and does it work with a RS PRO-97?

BTW - I was going crazy not getting any traffic, and your post was the first I came across which eased my mind a bit and actually told me why. Thanks for being on top of this.

You go to the postings for "RadioShack Scanners, i think the forst post is how you enter the rebanding....For Uniden scanners you need to go to there web site...The four CC freqys have dropped by 15mgz and are listed in the "Will Co" freqy section on this web site...You will not hear all the conversations as the new freqys of 853mgz will not show up unless the scanner is rebanded...The PRO97 i believe cannot be rebanded....

ok, so I finally signed up for premium and got used Win97 to download all the freq's that I wanted. I am hearing all (or what I beleive to be all) normal traffic for Joliet again. I can hear east, west and central and fire. I tried looking through the list (in the program and the database here), but can't see what a place that list's which alpha tags belong to which freq's. So, in short, is there any way to find out which tags are on 853.700?

In Motorola trunking the TGID's show up on ANY freqy, thats what trunking is, the next unused channel is what is used so there is NO pattern...The PRO97 cannot be rebanded, the Joliet system will work for you on 851.1125, 852.7875, 856.4375, and 857.4375 BUT, when the system chooses one of the 853.275 or 853.70 you will NOT copy that modulation or voice because Motorola changed the freqy #ing in rebanding...I had to reband my 396XT, 346XT, GRE500, RS197, RS2096 with the necessary procedure ...You must put in new "bandplans 1 & 2 in the menu to receive the 853mgz...I hate to say the PRO97 is not rebandable as it does not have the menu for the information.....At this point the CC-852.7875 will choose first 851.1125 then it goes to the 853 freqys and last it chooses the 856-857 freqys....You hear some but not all, when the CC goes to the 853 freqys you may hear nothing....

I think it was friday night, or maybe thursday night, JPD users in East were complaining of getting receive traffic from Central, or vice versa. Probably some users didn't get their radios in for reprogramming.

All radio's were reprogrammed but the system itself being 16 years old has some issues...The techs were setting parameters for rebanding running into problems because of age...I believe some repairs are still coming....Nice to hear from you Eric.....

last night, dispo kept advising radio users to switch radios out of scan mode..had not heard them do that before.

Now, it WAS a good night for scanning, and can't blame the officers for listening to all sectors! It did seem that when they would transmit while in scan mode, their call would not consistently go to their assigned dipatcher.

Now for a kudo's to the JPD - Last night just before 3am, what sounded like 2 sets of 5 gunshots went off east of County Line, north of Theodore (I heard them). 3 calls were into 911 within 2 or 3 minutes and dispatched immediately. JPD had 4 cars in the area about 3 minutes later, with a car stopped in the area within 5. Nothing found as far as I know, in the stopped car or otherwise. Maybe just stupid holiday antics? I've said it before and will again, if something's going to go bad, the JPD served area is a GOOD place to be.
