Default New digital Scanner Frequencies for Rockford...Help Please!

Hello all,
My mom recently purchased a digital scanner from radio shack.
She had to take it to four different stores to get it programmed and she
is still very unhappy with it.
She is (was) unable to pick up the still analog channels until I figured out
how to program them in today.
Can you tell me what the newest digital scanner frequencies are for City East and City west,
detectives, etc...whatever you have would be awesome!
The way they have her set up is basically on Wildcard and she is picking up from elgin and savanna which she is not interested in hearing at all. Please help, she has listened to a scanner for 40 years and this is very depressing to her!
Thanks a million, you can also email me at Sassylil14u@aol.com

You can look at the database on this site but what it does not post is the frequencies for Rockford. But what I found is Rockford West is 851.2625 talkgroup (TG) 1701, East is 851.4125 talkgroup (TG). Detective/Traffic is 852.0375 talkgroup is 1705. I hope this helps.

Since they are now using the StarCom21 system, which is shared by hundreds of users statewide, you need to program in the Rockford specific talkgroups and scan them instead of Wildcard. This will limit your scanning to the Rockford talkgroups.

What I had to was program the freqs. from Rockford Simulcast from PSREdit and then put in the TG's.

I am new to Digital also, I just bought a RS PRO 106 and PRO 197. Do I need to reband these radios or are they already rebanded? How do I tell if it needs to be done? I'm sorry, but I don' have a clue.

I think your radio's should be all right and you don't need to re band them, check the database here every so often just to check if any frequencies have changed or got re banded. I check every so often by checking the database here or using the program I have which is PSREdit for my PSR-500. Hope this helps.

There are some freqys listed for RKFD on Starcom (future use) but were left off the most recent CARMA listing (thanks Rich great job), 851.2625, 852.0375, 852.8375, 853.2375, 853.6375....Not sure if these help but they were listed on rr.com....These could be T(SITE)112 or 149??

These are listed for Site 111, the existing Rockford Simulcast site. When I was there last I noticed that a couple of them are indeed used by 111, and there has been no information regarding a new site for the area (like they did for McHenry County).

It appears that Rockford is a Customer User (like McLean County) of the StarCom21 System, not an Owner User (like McHenry County) so these freqs are most likely destined as additional frequencies for the existing simulcast system.

I am glad I don't have to reband the radios, but it's nice to know that if I have to I can. I have been reading about trunking / digital and starcom. My last new scanner was the PRO 2045. Technology left me in the dust, but I'm cathing up. After all these years I still love the hobby and have been reinvigorated by the digital system. I am amazed at just how far advanced these radios have gotten. I can't wait to learn more. Thanks for the frequencies and CARMA/RR. These sites have helped me a lot.
