That's a GMRS freq. Could be my kid around the block

GMRS: 16 UHF frequencies, eight for simplex and repeater outputs, eight for repeater inputs. Inputs and outputs are usually paired 5 MHz. apart, but any pairing of an input and output frequency is legal. CTCS (Control Tone Coded Squelch) is usual on repeaters. FCC license required, may be obtained by any individual for personal communications. Equipment must be type-certified for use in the 450-470 MHz band, 50 watts max, any antenna.

Yeah,I've heard that a lot,but recently found out that some model of "bubble pak" radio apparently has a call tone which has a noise which is similar to a un-decoded digital squawk.
Kids have them here all over the place, but now it's on to find out which one has that noise, lol!

Dang I wish we had those "family radios" 40 years ago. How cool would have that been. Nowadays is just another gadget that they couldn't careless about or appreciate.

They actually are pretty effective for some uses when used with a tone, but kids just don't see the light!

It probably was a bubble pack radio... Most of them come pre-programmed to use TPL 67.0 on all channels out of the box.

Some of the ABEEP Systems have gone "digital" and there new CC groaning sound resembles a low volume grumbling sound that is coming in on many of my UHF freqys with outside antennas...Its not decodeable on a scanner....Its a pain !!....

Exactly the type of sound the ring tone makes on one of these newer bubble pak's that are popular now but it's tough to figure out what model is doing it,without tailing every kid with a talkie on saturday!
