Question Digital on 462.700mhz. in illinois?

Anyone hearing digital or mdc1200 on 462.700??
I heard it friday during the day on a repeater with a decent range but wasn't able to find a tone at the time.
Most of the users seldom use a call but I'll see if I can hear one.

MDC is pretty common on GMRS these days. If you have certain radios (like the HT1250/1550, or CDM1250/1550) they can be programmed to display the raw or translated ID off the air.

You can also by standalone MDC decoders from Cimarron and others. There is even a free MDC Decoder software application.

Yup, MDC and DTMF are quite common.

Sadly tho we also have some interlopers who have used DVP/DES, now P25 and TRBO

True, and it sounded like turbo with no call signs before or after so I was trying to research Ill. gmrs repeaters and only one with decent range was noted in grundy county.

Default Digital on 462.700mhz. in illinois?

Without saying too much, the repeater is in western Will County and is running mixed mode - analog/P25.

I see. They can be heard for quite a distance, so the owner might have a lot to worry about if they are licensed. More so if otherwise.
Thanks.
