Post Wauconda to Outsource Dispatch Services

It's a sad day in Wauconda:

Close Wauconda 911 center, village administrator says -

And just when I found the best locations in my house for my 106 and 197 to achieve 95% copy on simulcast Starcom21. Grrr.

My initial reaction is that since LZ's existing police dispatch frequency has multiple users already they'd stay on StarCom, although I could be wrong. Depends on the situation at Lake Zurich and whether they have StarCom consoles-I'd imagine they do, or could get fairly easily-and whether they've got a couple open consoles to use. If Tower Lakes and Lakemoor both follow to LZ, then they definitely couldn't be consolidated into one already busy channel, and things would probably stay as is, just with a different PSAP. Again, just my opinion, only time will tell.

If it's in range, I'll probably be running UniTrunker on it.
Emergency management major.
