What is the best way to set it up to listen Buffalo Grove PD and Fire and Vernon Hills PD and Fire.
Sorry for such a basic question, but appreciate the help.

BGPD is encrypted so you are out of luck there. I think they still use 155.085 pretty extensively for C-C and car to station.

VHPD is on 470.8625 but will soon switch to StarCom21, probably encrypted.

BGFD can be heard on NWCD's StarCom21 fire channels.

VH doesn't have its own FD, most of the town is covered by Countryside FPD, 154.430. Parts are covered by Long Grove (RED Center, 159.660 with tones outs on 154.445) and L-R FPD, also on RED, same freqs as Long Grove.

As for setting it up you could create a Scanlist by importing from the database with EZ-Scan or create your own. I would prefer to roll my own, it allows for a more defined set of freqs to listen to.

Welcome sdgasgmin from another denizen of BG. N9JIG gave you all the data you need. You might load Lake County Sheriff in as well for as long as you can listen to them. They have thior own EDACS system now but will be going to Starcom shortly and will likely be encrypted.
