Default Coming through IL. next week...

Need to know what to program to keep up with ISP along I-70 to I-55 up to Kankakee. Have just gotten the 996, but haven't gotten familiar enough with it to trust programming it, will be using the 796D instead. Thanks for all recommendations in advance.

You'll want Illinois State Police for Districts: 11, 18, 9, 6 & 21.

That is Collinsville HQ, Litchfield HQ, Springfield HQ, Pontiac HQ, and Ashkum HQ.

As for county sheriff departments/fire departments, just ask and I'll try and get some counties written down for ya.

Also, the Collinsville area (St. Clair County) and Bloomington area (McLean County) are using Starcom for daily stuff. You might want to look at the Starcom page for information as well.

Collinsville is actively using 42.56 and 154.665 on a daily basis.

The list worked great, I also tried to hit the Starcom: Kankakee with no luck. Also what does the term C&I driver mean? Down hear we use COS (check own satisfaction) and description of vehicle/issue.

154.935, 42.66, 42.5, 155.46 and don't forget I-reach 155.055 for the Springfield area (district 9). Probably already have all this from the carma list but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth. The 155.055 freq. has been used in a couple of roadside speed traps around here in the last few weeks. Sangamon county deputies 155.535, Logan county (Lincoln) is 155.565. I believe Mclean county (Bloomington) is on Starcom.

Are they actually using 155.445 there? That has been used in the Springpatch area for an ISP Command channel, and recently licensed in 18.

That was my next question for Intrepid97 or anyone a little north of me. I don't get back in the area that often any one or close to home (Carlinville)

155.445 has been licensed at both Litchfield and Beaver Dam State Park (Carlinville) which is the main transmitter tower site for District 18.

Have not heard anything from my home QTH yet.... do hear 42.34 once in a while and can hear Springfield on 155.46 using the Carlinville tower (I assume) to talk to Collinsville or DuQuoin.

Maybe Springfield plans on stopping ops on 155.445 and migrating some traffic to STARCOM and using only 1 VHF frequency.
