While stuck inside this week due to the flu I worked up data files for the 142 StarCom 21 sites in both UASD and ARC996. Also included is a short PDF describing the files. To use these files you must have either Unidens UASD-996 software (Free download from Uniden) or ARC996 (commercial software from
www.butel.nl).
These files are available from the CARMA Profiles Page at
http://www.carmachicago.com/profiles/ .
There are 3 sets of files, one each for the North, Central and South Zones as well as an explanatory .pdf file.
The GPS coordinates for the Simulcast sites are centered on the coverage area at a point near the middle while the single transmitter sites are centered on the actual tower.
To use these files just download the Zip file, expand it, and place the files in the folder used by your application. Usually ARC996 puts them in the
c:\Program Files\ButelARC996PRO\data folder while UASD uses
\My Documents\UASD_Database\BCD996T\UASD_systems.
These files work fine even if you do not have a GPS as the radio will disregard GPS info if a GPS in not connected. If you wish to use these files without the GPS feature but you do have a GPS connected to our radio go into the software and un-click the "Use GPS" feature for the affected sites.
Enjoy!
