Will County - Lockport Public Safety

I am having a problem picking up anything understandable from this trunking system near me. I am pulling it straight in from RR using ARC396 to my BCD396T. This is one of the 3 highlighted trunking systems for Will County. The 151.0925 control channel is in LCN 12 as required, but it just keeps receiving bursts of some sort of digital data. When holding on the talk groups, they are always looking for a control channel. It was just updated yesterday and I tried to reload it again to no avail. Is anyone sucessfully monitoring this system?

Yes, i monitor it just fine here on my 246,396,898,Gre500....151.8425-LCN4, 151.0925-LCN12, its just two freqys....If you "hold" on a ID (talk group) the scanner says "finding data channel" but if you hold on a "active" ID its fine...On my 396 when the ID with the data burst comes up (0-12-071) put it in a GQK and set it to "L/O" and you will not hear it but the system will still hear other talk groups=0-12-020-street dept, 0-12-030-sewers, 0-12-100-LKPT PD CH19, thats about all i have heard on it so far...The freqy of 151.3325 is NOT part of the system, the license was terminated and the freqy is now used by Matteson FD....

Thanks for the quick responce. I tried your suggestions, but I'm still not receiving anything from this trunking system. I found 2 more frequencies for this system on the CARMA site and entered them in as well, and I added a couple more talk groups. I have locked out all other systems and have not heard anything for hours with both a BCD396T and a PRO-164. I am receiving from the other LTR systems in the area including Exxon Communications and Lewis University. Maybe one day I'll go to work and leave my BCD396T connected to the USAD Scanner Director and leave the log on for the day. I might be listening when there's nothing going on or something.

This system is not very active. Some days not one word. If that will be your primary listening focus, then you will get bored and discouraged very quickly.

It was very active with the snow storm "today"this tuesday morning....It only has two freqys as the others on the CARMA list are WRONG.....

I noticed the Lockport Public Works system was just updated again on 1/21/07 at 5:55 pm - so I reloaded my scanner with the newest files and after only about 15 minutes, I did receive 5 transmissions on the Lockport sewer talk group. Thats about all I heard, but at least I know it's working now and I can expect very little activity. I was under the impression that there was a lot of activity since it is one of three "highlighted" trunking systems for Will County - I thought I was doing something wrong...

Glad to hear you fixed it, i did hear some activity on 0-12-100 and 0-12-052, the first one i think being some detectives at times during the night but don't tie up your listening time sitting on it!!!....LKPT Park District=464.375 DCS261.....The 151.205 park district freqy is no longer used......
