kenwood radio info

Can anybody tell me,why when the TK-290 is programmed with a certain channel to activate when i certain tone is set off,why is it that it doesnt alert until after the tone is done and it doesnt beep like a pager would,all it does set off 3 not soo loud beeps,im confused because i know the tone codes are right and it doesnt require any time setting.If someone has any input please let me know.And thank you for your time.

You were expecting that it would activate before the tones were done?

Sorry, the radio isn't psychic, it needs to receive the alert before it can 'say' it's received the alert.

What it does after it receives the alert is whatever it was designed to do. It may or may not have options about what that is. That's found in the manual for the radio.

I think the 3 beeps is the standard alert on the Kenwoods. You can set other alert tones in the software. The volume is going to depend on how loud you have the radio volume.
