Default Indy EMT's killed.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (BlackBerry; Opera Mini/7.1.32543/28.3821; U; en) Presto/2.8.119 Version/11.10)

It happened just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection of Senate Avenue and St. Clair
Street.
Flags are flying at half-staff in honor of EMT Timothy
Mccormick. He was killed in the early morning crash,
which also left paramedic, Spc. Cody Medley, inside
the ambulance in critical condition. Spc. Cody Medley later passed away Monday morning.
Investigators said 21-year-old Jade Hammer ran a
flashing red light, t-boning the ambulance and
pushing it onto its side. She told officers she was
distracted by a GPS device, but also admitted to
having a few drinks a few hours earlier. She has been released pending an investigation and blood exam.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those lost and Indianapolis Fire an EMS.

Unhappy

I hate it when we lose responders in the line of duty because of the brainless acts of others!
SAD...

Not that it would replace the lives of those medics, but hopefully she does serious time for this travesty!

A second medic died early Sunday from injuries sustained when a car collided with an ambulance that was not on an emergency run and had the right of way in downtown Indianapolis, authorities said.

Paramedic Cody Medley, 22, of Indianapolis, died about 3 a.m. Sunday at Wishard Hospital, said Dr. Charles Miramonti, Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services chief. The driver of the ambulance, 24-year-old Tim McCormick from the Indianapolis suburb of Greenwood, died Saturday.
