Information: Hendricks County talk group / encrypted traffic

Has had encrypted traffic most of this morning (2009 August 25). Listed in DB as P25 Digital. In the past I have heard P25 digital traffic in the clear.

Speculation:

A) They have the ability to select clear or secure (encrypted) on their radios.
B) They reprogrammed radios for secure only and this is among the first times it has been noted on these forums.

I believe it's B. This TG is used by the county-wide drug enforcement task force.

A year or so ago, I went to a huge auction of merchandise that the task force had confiscated. There were over 100 automobiles and a boat load of auto parts, home entertainment gear, and tools. Heck, there were three John Deere Gators and one only had about 14 hours on the meter.

At the beginning of the sale, the deputy prosecutor who worked with the task force and who organized the sale said a few words. He made the point that personal checks would be accepted as payment and that in all the years they have been doing these sales, nobody ever bounced a check.
