Default need help on elwood, indiana city police freq

elwood city police, according to the radioreference database, is contained in the system madison county public safety, and further down in the listing as madison county rural group trunk system.
It listed elwood as a LTR site with a frequency of 857.13750. I can get the madison county dispatch (which is also in that group) just fine. i used freeescan and rr data to program my bcd996t scanner. i cannot get the elwood police. a friend said that the display of the bcd996t should show the letter "L" when stopped on a ltr site. i programmed the elwood info from rr into the bcd996t manually and now the letter shows on the display but still no reception. same friend stated that he gets elwood , frankton, pendelton, etc on the madison county dispatch frequency. however, i do not. who am i to to believe?. he also stated that there was a different tower that is being used. i would have thought that the rr database would contain all the info needed to program correctly. does anyone have the elwood pd programmed and working correctly in their scanner that could help me? thanks in advance, bill

I have them programmed in and receiving fine. You have to enter them as two different systems. Rural is the Elwood, Alexandria system and the other is for Shf, EMA, etc...

thanks for the reply . I wonder if scanners are different in how the radioreference data needs to be entered. My friend is using a non digital trunking bearcat handheld and he, like you, has no problem receiving elwood, frankton , alexandria, pendelton etc. he says he receives the transmissions on the madison county sheriff dispatch frequency but i have a hard time understanding how all those transmissions are all going through one frequency. he may be talking about a system instead of frequency. are you using a bcd996t? I programmed the rural seperate from the sheriff and i get the sheriff dispatch but still no elwood, alex etc. i think maybe that as a newbie i am doing something wrong. i think that i will reprogram my scanner again and see what happens. if you or anyone has more info for me please let me know. thanks again scanNEIN. i appreciate the info, bill

Yes, I do have a 996T. I program it with Butel Software, ARC996 Basic.
