Default DHS EOC Radio Checks

It sounds like the DHS EOC is doing radio checks on TG 1264. Any idea why they're doing this (aside from testing the system, of course)?

I have posted this on this fourm a while back. They do it from the Indiana Goverment Center in Indianapolis. This used to be called the State Office Building. They use 800Mhz talkgroup 1264 along with 155.025 on VHF. I used to work there a long time ago.DHS does this to test the system and make sure they can contact any of the 92 counties in our state in a emergency situation being weather, etc.DHS used to do all there testing on 155.025 until the 800Mhz radio system went into service. They keep 155.025 as a backup for the counties that do not have 800Mhz radio equipment. They also have remote recievers across the state for 155.025 at The Goverement Center on the 13Th floor where they can link into those sites to hear there radio traffic on VHF.

Just a radio check where they contact each county EMA on SAFE-T and VHF to make sure everyone's equipment is in working order in case it's needed. They do these on the first Wednesday of every month, I believe.
