Disney's "A Christmas Carol" promotional train is currently in Louisville, Kentucky, and is schedule to move to Cleveland on Monday, September 14. The route will be over the Louisville and Indiana Railroad from Louisville to Indianapolis and then over CSX to Cleveland.
The schedule, as copied from a railfan group, is:
7:00 AM depart Louisville
2:30 PM depart Indianapolis
9:00 PM arrive in Berea
10:00 PM arrive in Cleveland
You probably won't hear much radio traffic on the LIRC channel (160.725 MHz, AAR 41), however you will hear the train calling the CSX IC Dispatcher (160.560 MHz, AAR 30) as they approach Indianapolis. The train will have to get a Form D (track warrant) from Milepost 4 to Dale (near East and Raymond Streets) on the CSX Louisville Secondary. From Dale to IU Interlocking (east end of Union Station), the train will get verbal authority from the dispatcher. Once the train gets on the CSX Indianapolis Line (to Cleveland), its movement will be governed by signals. I believe the train symbol will be Amtrak P938, but also listen for Amtrak engine numbers. I also believe that the train will change crews somewhere in downtown Indianapolis, possibly near IU.
There's an Indianapolis area railroad scanner feed available at:
Indiana Railroad . I believe Shawn has the LIRC and CSX channels programmed into the radio that provides the feed.
