Thumbs up 2004 Chev Imapla Sheriff's car story

Look at www.TheIndyChannel.com and look for Jack Rineharts video package on the guy selling a 2004 Chev Impala that still has the Sheriff makings on th side of the door.Indiana Law says that you cannot sell a car like this to the general public.

There's more than just selling a used police car.

Well...very simply put...the Agency involved should be disciplined. Not to hard for a Chief or Sheriff to have the Decals painted over or the vehicle repainted before it is SOLD!!!!!

Any mope with a red or blue light can impersonate. It doesnt have to be with markings. I see Ex indiana sherrifs cars allover the chicago area. They all have the beige and brown.

The two-tone cars make them more credible, though. It's illegal to drive those cars with that color scheme in Indiana, and the driver can and should be stopped and cited.

Ya, what is with all these police impersonations? Been hearing a lot of stories.

I just hope I don't get "accused". I listen to PD, FD, amateur in my car, so I got a Motorola Spectra, but thats it. I can almost guarantee though that if I do get pulled over, the cop is going to want to know WHY I have it, and he may even try to transmit on his own PD frequency with my radio (which will fail since it is obviously RX only), which I don't blame him for doing.

Seems the cops out here don't seem to mind. Once saw me with my HT (and he heard on it that is was the PD frequency) and just asked why I had it. I just said "i like to listen and take video, etc, etc." and he just said ok and that was it.

I do drive a 2003 Grand Am, so that is about as far away from a police car as possible.

P.S. I don't consider myself a whacker lol. I have no lights whatsoever, just a radio. (ok, and i did install the PA accessory for the Spectra (with sirens DISABLED), but thats about it.
