Default Help with redundancy

First I want to thank the operators of this site for providing such a great service to us folks that enjoy this hobby! I just became a paid subscriber and must say it's certainly worth it!

My problem is with the 'Indiana Project Hoosier SAFE-T' showing so many digital freqs that are not yet implemented in some of the areas here in Indiana but knowing which are and which are not is confusing for a green horn like myself.

I reside here in Mishawaka Indiana and as of right now we are in a phase of the surrounding areas switching to digital.

My question, is there a way to find out what areas are definitely digital and what areas are still analog without scanning and eliminating frequencys by locking them out.

I currently have both sets of digital and analog freqs loaded up in my software and being a newbie it just seems a little redundant to scan frequencys that aren't there yet.

Areas of Interest right now are:

Elkhart City Police and Fire
Elkhart County Sheriff & Fire
St. Joseph County Sheriff and Fire

Mishawaka is definitely digital and South Bend is Analog still.

Hello and welcome to RR, michscanner.

I have moved this thread to the Indiana forum. When posting state or system specific questions, please do so in your state's forum. Doing so will help to ensure your question is answered in a faster and more accurate manner. Also, please take some time to look at all the forums we have to offer here next time so you can ask your question in the best possible forum.

Thanks!

I believe you have mixed up the terms some.. Its the talkgroups your referring to, not the frequencies. The SAFE-T is an "legacy" Motorola SmartZone Omnilink TRS using 800 MHz. The system is what is called an "Mixed Mode" ASTRO with both analog, and digital talkgroups. You don't want to lock out the frequencies, just the digital tg's if you cant hear them with the scanner you use. Most of the known tg's are listed in the database here-
