Which 'XT program'? I suspect you mean ARC-XT, but it's important to be specific to get the right answers. I suspect, since this is such a regional question, you'd be better off in the Indiana forum

Re-band?

Columbus should not have to re-band, and the last time I listened to them last week, reception was fine.

There was/is a problem when I downloaded it through RR it came up as a Type I system instead of Type II, I simply removed the Fleet Map and everything was fine.

Not familiar with ARC-XT though. The city system is Type II Motorola.

I don't think that you have to specially program the BCD396XT to receive rebanded analog frequencies. I monitor the Illinois Starcom21 (P-25) system, which has rebanded, and all I did was program in the new, rebanded frequencies when it was time to do so. I would assume that the scanner would handle rebanded analog frequencies the same way it handles the rebanded digital frequencies. Have you tried just putting in the new analog frequencies as you normally would to see if they would work?

I hope this helps. Good luck!

for 3600 CCs a rebanding table is needed....for 9600 CCs like Starcom, there is no need for a rebanding table...that info is sent in the 9600 data stream

Okay, so what was the "reband" solution and problem?
Please do share, and updating the database would be helpful to others as well.

Though I have reception just fine when in the local area and I've not changed anything, jsut updated talkgroups, and the database needs those updated as well.

The ones I've heard I've not had enough time to listen and figure them out.

Thanks for correcting my somewhat inaccurate advice, usswood. I guess I've just become spoiled listening to Starcom because I've gotten used to the 9600 baud system doing all the hard work for me.

I'm glad that you were able to figure out the problem and that you're back to back to scanning normally. Be patient with the 396XT, I've had mine since late July and I'm still learning new things about it. One thing is for sure though, it is an amazing scanner!

Smile BCD396XT reband

I will try to explain what i was doing on the reband. 1st when you go to the RR Safe-t when you open Bartholomew county click on primary where the freq's are you will see it is high lighted yellow ( reband) for 800MHz analog. Well when i was loading it through Butel i could not receive 800MHz analog signal.I tried custom / type ll motarola and so.So what i ended up doing was delete out the file and reload from RR base and it worked. I e-mailed Corment several days ago. What i see is now when loading from RR base it will auto set it has reband now in the butel program. Before i had to set it manualy and for some reason it was not taking. The last update for 396XT has now corrected this for me. I hope you all can make some since of this. I have only had the XT for 3 months and still learning every day.. Thank you all for your help. The best scanner i think on the market just my opinon.
