Thumbs up Flood Watch Thru Friday 10-9-09

Central Indiana is under a Flood watch thru Friday 10-9-09.We could get 2 to 3 inches of rain in our area with a chance of severe Thunderstorms in the watch area. This is issued by Indianapolis NWO office today via weather alert radios and sent out to the media.Might be a good time to be ready incase you have flooding in your area.Would also be a good time to listen to Safe-t and other emergency freqs in the event we have a repeat of flooding like we did from Metro Indianapolis/Marion County on south.Keep your Weather Alert radios along with your scanners and your Ham Radio Ht's charged up in case you need to use them along with the rest of communications gear you might need to use in a emergency.

It's rather unusual for the NWS to issue a watch of this nature so far in advance unless they have a high level of confidence in the outcome.

If the I NWO office did not think that this was going to take place they would of not issued a Flood Watch which means conditions are right for this to happen.
