Thumbs up 162.425 Muncie Weather KJY 93

Just found a new weather station on 162Mhz. Now Muncie(Delware County) has a Noaa weather channel and they can be heard in Indianapolis with no problems,

Is anyone hearing 162.425 for Municie Weather?Can anyone lset us know where the transmitter is?

Here is a news article dated November 4, 2009 2:00 PM with this:

"There's a transmitter on top of a building on the BSU (Ball State) campus."

I talked with a contact tonight at The National Weather Service in Indianapolis on 11-4-09 arround 8:30PM and was told the transmitter is around the Ball State University area or west of Ball State University.Hearing the frequency in Indianapolis tonight with no problems.I was told this was put into service last week.

More than likely the antenna is atop the Teachers College on the corner of Mckinley and Riverside (across from Emens). Thats where most of the antennas are located cause its probably the tallest building on campus. Im glad they have one in muncie now cause the one in indy didnt reach here too well unless i had my discone hooked up and now im listening to it without ANY antenna on my scanner...perfect
