Our local LE agencies are NOT removing or planning to remove the EDACS currently in place

Fact: Yes Harris produces P-25 systems. They ALSO produce EDACS after they took ovr the communications line from Tyco M/A-Comm, which inherited it when they took it over from originally GE/Ericcsson. They ALSO produce the OpenSKY lineup. OpenSKY is completely different from EDACS, and thier P-25 products. They produce and sell all three of them, and other products also.
Fact: EDACS has always been a PITA for every company that has owned the whole kit and kaboodle. It caused headaches for GE/E, M/A-Comm, and Harris has them now. They also have a royal PITA with OpenSKY, which seems to have more failures and problems than even EDACS.
Fact: Harris is NOT just a Floridian corporation. It is a mega huge communications and electronics monster with locations nationwide, including a huge faciltiy in New York.
Fact: What may or may NOT be going on in the administration areas of the agencies in Florida regarding EDACS possibly going away, is just in Florida. This is the Indiana forums, and the OP was asking about data regarding Indiana EDACS systems. TY for the FL input as maybe some of us may make trips there. Now back on topic....
No one I talk to up in Hamilton County knows for sure what the future holds in two years. Some suggest a switch fully over to the SAFE-T and do the wink wink thing about Westfield, and others already ready to just click over anyway.
