Default So confused. :(

Ok...read this and other threads and I'm just not getting all of this yet. I have the 396xt and all of the Safe-T is quite. From reading it appears I have to reprogram the scanner to get it to work...however...I created a new group and added all of the frequencies in the Shelby County Simulcast section, and scan that group and it appears I get traffic from Shelby County and other agencies.

So do I have to use software to get the re-banded frequencies....or am I able to do it manually? If manually any step by step instructions out there?

I'm sure this has been asked before someplace herein...but...I'm still not having any luck.

If got the frequencies from this site, you're halfway there.

As for rebanding, you can do it by hand, but I recommend FREESCAN software....

FreeSCAN - Sixspot Software

Yes - it's free!!!

Ok thanks...I have to order a cable to do that...so I'll guess I'll have to wait as I can't find out how to do it manually.

Ok, got my cable, did the firmware update, subscribed to the premium membership from RR, installed the FreeSCAN, selected what I wanted on my scanner, hit the upload to scanner button...and boom...I'm up and running. Could not have been easier...and a years membership here is well worth the $30.00

Thanks for everyones help.
