Default Home Patrol

I live in Crawford county, pretty rural.

If I get a Home Patrol scanner at Radio Shack and put in my zip code I should be able to pick up everything I use to pick up on my old bearcat? Even if some of it is analog?

Main trouble I am hearing about the home patrol is that you may hear to much. But we are rural, unless the thing has some super range, that shouldn't be a problem?

I was in two different Radio Shacks in the last week, they are not a lot of help...

The Home Patrol does work as you stated and with the Sentinal software you can also select just what you want to listen to and save those systems in favorites list folders. I have the Home Patrol and I use multiple favorites lists folders and it works great. I'm not sure why you would buy it from R/S. Are they having a sale on it right now? I think you can buy a factory refurb from Uniden for around $429.00.

I own a Uniden Home Patrol HP-1 and it is a great scanner. I like it so much that if I find buy another one I will run it full time in my car.

I've used my HomePatrol a lot all over the state of Indiana and have always been happy with it. However....the stock antenna that comes with the unit is pretty well.....crap. Just invest a little money in an aftermarket antenna and you should be good to go!
