You could monitor activity from St. Joseph County Indiana since it's just south of you. Try this lists of frqs. from Radio Reference:

The "Point-to-Point" frequency of 155.370 is a great one to listen to. You will all kinds of action on there, especially BOLs and Severe Weather broadcasts. Depending on how good of an antenna you have, you may be able to receive down into the counties to the south of Elkhart and South Bend. Likewise, another good frequency for Indiana is 155.475, which is the Indiana Law Enforcement Emergency Network (ILEEN). However, you will hear far more radio traffic on 155.370 MHz.

As for the 155.340 you mentioned, that is the statewide IHERN (Indiana Hospital Emergency Radio Network) frequency for EMS to Hospital traffic.

Hi Garry! I saw this thread and your location, and thought I'd put in my two cents, seeing as how I'm not that far from you. By the way, you must get a hell of a signal from the Sumnerville tower!

From where I am in Buchanan, I can pick up (on a handheld with standard antenna) the St. Joseph (IN) Co. dispatch at 159.150, the Toll Road State Police dispatch at 155.415, South Bend dispatch (Ch.1) at 453.650, and some of the other repeater channels from SB (all on 453 Mhz band). I'm not much for the more obscure freqs, but that's mainly 'cause I'm new to scanning in the area, and usually stick to dispatch. I do work in SB, so I'm interested in checking out Mishawaka's 800 Mhz system, and Notre Dame's LTR system, among others. Obviously you need something with a big signal to pick up where you're at, but maybe you have some big antennae on top of the house!

Any interesting freqs from your neck of the woods, other than Cass Co. Police?
