Unknown tanker calling Fort Wayne ops to report that they will be early for the AR with SANDY 01/02. This will probably be in Hilltop MOA starting within the hour (1000 EST).

EDIT: SANDY 1 flight looking to declare MARSA with UPSET 71 - 370.850. Tanker is already up on discrete (350.350).

EDIT #2: Brief comms on 140.300...will monitor this to see if it is SANDY. Lots of interference in the 138-144 band. 139.750 active, however.

EDIT #3: SANDY 1 passes tail 0152 (80-0152), SANDY 2 passes tail 0692 (78-0692).

DERBY 71 (C-130H, 91-1236) is making drops at Atterbury today. A friend of mine is there flying UAVs and says the two female C-130 pilots are "smokin' hot!" Unable to hear comms due to the altitude, but he confirms that both the UAV pilots and the C-130 are using 126.200.

Have also been hearing DERBY 71 and DERBY 61 calling ops at KSDF on 268.100.

Default Heads Up - Southern Indiana Event - Bold Quest East/West

From the 22nd of August 2011 to the 23rd of September 2011, USA Joint Forces Command will be sponsoring and Atterbury Muscatatuck Complex Center of Operations will be hosting a NATO Exercise. The exercise will include military aerial activity in and around Atterbury, Muscatatuck (MUTC) and Jefferson Ranges (R3401 and R3403). The primary training emphasizes Close Air Support (CAS) with troops on the ground. The intent is to integrate avionic systems with various NATO ground troops in an urban environment. Established airspace in the vicinity of MUTC does not provide the necessary coverage to allow safe and or relevant training. Additional airspace in the form of a Temporary Military Operating Area (TMOA) has been approved over and adjacent to Muscatatuck near Butlerville, IN. Full details of TMOA use and description can be found below. A 24 hour advanced NOTAM will be issued that will further define the hours of use for a given day within the dates of the exercise and not to exceed 5 hours daily. The TMOA’s will terminate on the 23rd of September.

You're not the only one wondering who - seems like COLT or QUOTE. It looks like they're probably a flight of three B-2s, but nobody has been able to confirm it yet. Lots of monitors have heard them making calls on HF.

This was from a couple of F/A-18s that flew into KLAF. I don't know where they were from, as I only heard about their identity the next day from friends.

235.400 is VFA-131 - fixed callsign WILDCAT.

271.400 was active last night with ACM traffic. Check 350.350 ZAU discrete for other comms.

Lots of good comms from Jefferson this morning:

MACE 1 (x2) working with TUG 11 on 343.000. Working to help DEUCE 21/31 on the ground. SAVAGE 11/12 referenced as Predators orbiting in the area. MACE A/A was on 311.000, but 12 lost his front radio, so all comms are on 343.000 now.

I'm sure there are more ground comms that I'm not hearing.
