Default Notre Dame Stadium Fly Over Frequencies

All,
I live directly in the flight path when ND has fly over’s before home football games. Does anyone have any idea which airbase the jets originate from and any possible frequencies?

Thanks
Gary

Could be a number of places, but all should be under control of Chicago so I'd check their frequencies as they need the centers permission. Also they are sometimes up and about as much as an hour earlier than their flyover time.

No...under 10,000 ft they will be with TRACON. South Bend Approach, probably.

They appear to be using this in both AM and FM.

122nd FW out of Fort Wayne. On a related note, I heard them using a new tac freq on 226.025 today.

Are you sure about the dual modes? I've never heard them use FM. It is very common when VHF freqs are entered manually that the radio defaults to FM...so it may have just been an error.

I though it was a mistake as well. Confirmed. One pilot complained the other was garbled and he was complaining on AM today. They got it figured out but I heard a conversation yesterday while comparing my 780 to the 2045 and both pilots were on FM. I suggest programming both modes and if you hear garble lock out the FM.
Jared what radio(s) and antennas are you running? Your log from the Bold Quest blew me away. Do they do data on 311.00? I hear a carrier that breaks the squelch and a tail but no voice. I know I have heard voice there before though.

I have a BCD396XT and two IC-R20s. Typically, I'll use homemade ground planes for the Icoms and a homemade SATCOM X-wing for the 396 (I scan milair and SATCOM on that radio simultaneously, so I don't bother switching antennas).

The noise you heard was probably encrypted voice: http://kb9ukd.com/digital/ky57.wav

KILLER 1 flight [#2] is having an issue with his aft radio due to a loud squeal - 1 pushed him over to FM to solve the issue.
