Outfitting a company with radios
I have been thinking recently about trying to bid on a job outfitting a construction company with radios. I can install, program, ect. the radios but need to know a few questions that someone might be able to answer.
-What all is involved in getting a frequency RX-TX-Pl tones assigned in VHF 150's?
-What all is involved in a repeater set-up besides tower with antenna?
-What are going rates for these services (profit per radio) about 30 radios?
This is a full set up job. The company has nothing so I would be responsible for buying radios, antenna's, coaxs, programming, installing, and testing.
All help is appreciated!
Thanks,

If you are asking these basic questions in this forum you are already waay over your head; there are a lot of questions you need to ask the prospective purchaser. If you put togather a half-baked proposal and sign a performance contract you better have deep pockets or a big home equity line of credit

I know the radio police here may jump all over me, but ...
Have you considered approaching someone in the area that already has a license for the freq band you desire, and then just operate on the same freq with different unit numbers? It's been done by people who already had a bunch of radios for a certain band, Maybe a cement company or towing company or cab company. Many VHF freqs are becoming seldom used. A freq that used to have a dozen users in an area, is now down to just 2 or 3 users, because the rest went to cells and Nextel. You could offer the licensee some money, and/or radios, or offer to maintain their system for free, or whatever.
You can get perfectly fine used VHF equipment for $100 a mobile, $100 a handheld. The only thing you would need to buy new is the antenna and feedline. A used mobile on a Astron power supply will do just fine as the base.

Not nice to try and fool mother FCC. You file for a license stating your specific radio needs under your elgibility statement, you cannot allow someone to operate a separate business entity under your license. Your base would require a license at a specific physical address and geographic coordinates. The holder of the license would be responsibile for all operations under his license and would be subject to NAL for violations.

HOW MUCH trouble do you want to be in? This would not be wise.

Does anybody have a link to the FCC requirements and application process?
Thanks,
