Default Bendix King

Hey guys...not sure if this is in the right section or not. But, does anyone know if a Bendix King EPH5142 handheld is field programmable? It does not have the keypad on the front, but I was told it is still user programable without cables. Is this true?

Thanks

No, there would be no means to input the data. The options are to PC program, clone or install a keypad.

There could be a keypad under a slide on cover.

Twist the battery off, and slide the cover off the keypad that's below the display. I'd toss the cover into a drawer and get one of the stainless covers that lets you push the buttons through it. Get a programming key from one of the many eBay vendors.

i may be mistaken here, but i don't think that radio come's in a no keypad version.if it's got a keypad, all you have to do is carefully circumvent the programming port with a key or other metal object. you don't really even need the programming key. it's fairly easy to program, once you get the hang of it.it is a royal pain in the a** to hand input everything.

They sold plenty of non keyboard models. There is a blank that looks like a slide on cover and a blank piece of circuit board on the back side. The entire thing is the size of a keypad module but is hollow.
