Default Tait TP9100 series radio MDC1200

hello,

I have the Tait TP9100 series radio and when I press the PTT button I get the PTT sidetone to indicate the MDC1200 burst. What I have realized is that the PTT side tone is going off before the radio sends the MDC data burst so I am actually talking or trying to talk over the data burst.

Contacted the dealer and they didn't seem to know if the PTT sidetone can be delayed. Anyone know any possible solutions?

thanks

The side tone and the mdc burst are supposed to coincide so if that
is not happening then most likely its:

1 - a programming omission or error

or

2 - something is wrong with the radio that requires repair

When you say Ptt sidetone, do you mean the 3 or 4 quick beeps which is the Proceed To Talk tone?

I am not sure what to do with this radio because I have to wait after I hear the beeps and guess when the MDC has been sent. In a stressful call I can't be guessing if the MDC has been sent yet.

Set the MDC to be sent at the end of the Ptt

It sounds like you do not actually have the ANI Sidetone enabled. Have them go to, Channel Profiles > Analog > PTT Signaling TAB > In the Settings Box, Check the Audible Sidetone. Also if you want it so ID each and every time set the ANI suppression time to " 0 " (Zero). This is the amount time the radio will wait after it last send out the ANI before sending it out. This is a cool option. Also the MDC1200 Side tone is the actual MDC1200 Burst.
