Default CPS-P3 vs DMR flat trunking ID scheme

I manage a T3 trunking system that is currently using the CPS-P3 dial scheme. We want to change it over to DMR flat to open it up for use of any brand of compatible radio.

Do I have to start from scratch with a flat dial scheme? Is there a standard to follow? Can CPS numbers be converted?

I'm working on the same issue now. There is a conversion between the schemes. I am going to try and program a radio for Flat and see how it works on our CPS-P3 system.
