Default I emailed John.thompson

Thanks for posting the pdf. Since the bid should be complete, I emailed John to ask if they are going digital. I'll post his reply.

If Johnson County goes with ProVoice, can we just buy a ProVoice radio with the frequencies, or is there more to it than that? What's the price tag on a used ProVoice radio?

Depending on how lucky you can get they range from $600-$1,200 easily. There is only one PV radio on eBay right now going for 750. Its a Jaguar 725 mobile. I'm currently trying to get a P7170ip radio from a guy so I might be selling my 700p sometime soon. It does AEGIS/PV and max systems/groups.

As for programming it, you need to get ahold of ProGrammer software from M/A Com. You can try to buy it direct but they wont sell it to you unless you can show you NEED it. A shop might program it but i highly doubt they would program any digital GIDs in. Its not illegal but they frown upon this kind of thing.

Other than those two options, maybe finding a friend with the proper gear and they can do it for you
