Start by going to the database area of radioreference. ....here is the link to Iowa-Black Hawk county
Black Hawk County, Iowa (IA) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Almost everything in BH county is on the RACOM system and the frequencies are listed on the page.

Here is the radioreference wiki page on the BCT8---it has links to different discussion groups for the scanner
BCT8 - The RadioReference Wiki

Consider joining the yahoo BCT8 group and the yahoo ScanIowa group....lots of help and files available
in ScanIowa

I have always found programming trunked systems into scanners a huge pain unless I am able to use a computer interface. You can do it if you READ THE MANUALS.........and do it step by step....and expect to make a few mistakes here and there and have to redo the programming. If you do it manually.......learn how to do a factory reset!!!!!!!! That way you can erase any big mistakes.

If you are a novice to scanners.............spend the extra $$$$$ for the software and programming cable!
