Default Sioux City PD/FD RACOM TG's

Sioux City PD/FD no longer uses the Racom networks do they? Every time I'm through the area I only catch them on their type 2/P25 TRS.

I'm going through my 996t UASD files, deleting/adding tg's and frequencies as needed.

Thanks,
Tim K.

Hi Tim! Sioux City is now over the STARCOMM P25 Network. They were operating over it last year when I taken the Q-LINNTW (Lincoln-Newtown, Mn) train up that way.

I had my Pro 96 on hand with me to make the time pass at the hotel.

Thanks Rich. I guess it would be a safe bet to delete the Sioux City PS TG's then.

All of the RACOM radios were removed from police/fire service and were issued to the city's public works departments. The radios were reprogrammed from EDACS operation to conventional 800 MHz frequencies.

The PD still uses RACOM for its MDT service.

Woodbury County has a communications Winnebago known affectionately as the BAB (Big A** Bus) that has several dispatch position and can operate as a fully functional comm center. It was purchased with interoperability in mind with the ability to drive anywhere and interop with any system. I ASSUME that means they have some EDACS capability.

That said, I have not heard any SUX PD/FIRE traffic on the RACOM network since Starcom went online.

I was just down there last thursday in Sioux City. They were using the above Starcomm network. Everything sounded good!

I do not have the racom system programmed in my scanner.
