Default Marion Iowa Fire testing 800 P25

Today was the 2nd time that I have picked up Station 1 to Station 2 testing 800 which was CRFD chan 4.

Just thought it interesting. Guess they need it for Aid for CR. They do have a 800 tower freq but I believe that it is data only.

Is that UHF freq. a simulcast of the 800MHz. one? Is it common for RACOM to have a UHF. freq.? I am curious, I know a lot of the radios are probably capable, just have seen any RACOM TGs with a UHF freq. Mike

I almost forgot, the only RACOM groups I have seen with 07 as the first numbers, are inter-system type talk groups. I.E., RACOM techs. ect. This is interesting, maybe testing of some sort? Mike

it was 460.5 because my other scanner was blarring it out but I was getting it on my Racom 800's on that 07 group, got it on 3 different scanners. There was about a 1/10 sec delay in the sound. Echo echo that is what caught my attention. Have heard it before but didn't really look to see what was causing it. Sounds like the officers in a giant empty room with both scanners picking it up.
