City of Dubuque (System 30) ?
Now that we have all heard that the EDACS system 30 owned by the City of Dubuque has had channels/LCN modified, was wondering if someone could please be kind enough to set the record straight?
This board is designed for discussions and sharing of information. I know that there's some out there with the correct information, as it seems that the DBQ Police/Fire online scanner seems to work fine ( so a few must have the correct LCN information)
If anyone has the correct information, please post to this thread as many would like to be able to listen, particularly those in the area and those that travel to the area.
I ask that they post here, in addition to requesting that the database being updated, as sometimes it takes days/weeks for stuff to go through on there, due to the large scope of this site.
Thanks and take care all!!

The local Radioshack in Dubuque has been selling lots of new scanners apparently programmed with the new frequencies. Maybe someone could ask them for the list...

KB0BML: So you don't know what they are, but seem to know a lot about the online scanner feed? I tried to PM you a while back for help on them, but not sure you got it or you're one on here that's not in the sharing mood.
I've had basically a 'teleconference' with a lot of people that have information to share, but since this thread seems to be going downhill with 'every man to himself', they each told me they're not sharing their information either, just for that purpose (knowing there's people out here that don't share).

Dubuque Frequencies
It took me a while to figure out I was not getting police calls, as I monitor Wisc nearby and Illinois as well as county fire and outlying towns such as Dyersville. etc. Finally realized they had changed frequencies some time ago. The correct one are listed on here under the RACOM group for Dubuque.Even Dubuque Fire was coming through, just not Police and now that I think of it, also the County Sheriff cars, with exception of the jail traffic.

You should be getting all agencies. Even with a couple missing frequencies you will get all Talkgroups, but you will not get all the transmissions.

Listening to your website, it is obvious I am still missing some channels. I don;t see any traffic on the Sherriffs at all. Guess I will have to check farther. Thanks for the reply

I'm not sure why the CORRECT listing is such a big secret here. Why doesn't someone just post the correct LCN order as of today 10/24 so we can all be done asking and commenting. It sure would be nice for someone to be Nice and share. :-)

I did some looking at the FCC data and here is what I have come up with.
For the Kieler site, the following frequencies are licensed.
WPKY375
854.7125
855.7125
856.1625
857.4625
857.7125
858.4625
858.7125
859.4625
859.7125
860.4625
860.7125
For Peosta site
856.2375
857.7125
Under callsign WPKY425, these also have the Kieler location:
857.7125
858.7125
So it looks like the frequencies that are missing from system 30 are:
854.7125
855.7125
856.1625
857.7125 - might be in use at Peosta site as it is in database for the Peosta site.
Peosta might be using 856.2375 as it is licensed and not in the database.
Cascade site might be using 854.6125 as it is licensed and not in database.
Either way, the data base looks to be rather incorrect, since it is showing 2 Kieler entries (System 4 and System 30), and the Peosta and Cascade sites looks incomplete.

System 4 and system 30 are located just a few miles apart. Cascade is still using just the 4 frequencies and is unchanged. Peosta is in process of rebanding. I had spent many hours getting all of the frequencies in the area, but all the data just gets copied and posted to the database here whether I had finished verifying it or not, so there's not much sense in posting the data anymore.

Ok, I never figured out why 4 and 30 were both listed at Kieler. Is 30 downtown 'BML' ? When I get a chance I will try the current 30 list, as it appears to be changed in the last 24 hrs or so. Thanks, or feel free to PM.
I didn't mean to come off as a jerk (just a lot of people are looking for the info and don't want to be tied-down to listening all the time online), but it seems that a lot don't want to share on here anymore. As long as we're not dealing with government encryption and top secret stuff, I think we'll all be just fine :-)

System 4 and 30 are pretty much identical as far as traffic. I think 4 exists because 30 is more City-owned/licensed and 4 is RACOM owned. I've noticed that you pick up more travelling units on 4 than 30 so it may have something to do with the way racom programs their radios. This is just what I've found from monitoring.

KD0BML is correct, systems 1-15 are RACOM owned 'shared' systems that are in every radio. Systems outside this range, like 26 in Collins and 30 in Dubuque, are either licensed to the area they serve or are set up as part of their contract to provide dedicated service to them. Marshalltown is similar to this as it has LCN 1-10 for all RACOM users and LCN 11-15 for only Marshall county traffic. This dividing up of LCNs to certain radios is known as partitioning for those who monitor the Tech channel.
It's probably not critical that the new LCN order for system 30 is disclosed, since the traffic on 30 will more than likely also be found of Dubuque 1. But the sole purpose of this website, forum and database is for the sharing of information for the better of the monitoring community. When we stop sharing, it negates the purpose of this hobby. Just my $.02

I don't understand the references to system 30, system 4, system 1. Been into scanners since early 70's (remember plug in crystal frequency scanners). My dad worked as a Dubuque county sheriff dispatcher for about 10 years, so I liked listening to him working. But got away from it in 90's and just coming back in last two years and need a primer on trunking

trunking is definetley confusing if you don't know what you're doing, after messing around with trunking I now know why the folks at moto and kenwood charge so mutch money for time and labor on these radios because they take so mutch time to program them even the scanners. Now that they are rebanding that makes it that mutch more confusing

Worked for Teleprompter cable for 6 months in '76, I built their "Local Access Studio". I helped cover the weekly City Council Meetings. Yawn.....
What color did they ever decide on to paint that DAMN bridge?????
Took 3 years to get over 6 months!!!

Someday might work on the wiki here at RR for the RACOM system, there appears to be a lot of mystery around the inner working of this network and exactly how it applies to scanning their system.
