Default Rogue Transmitter Down Town 464.275

There is an ongoing AC hum on 464.275 coming from Iowa Methodist Hospital In Des Moines it is emitting a PL Tone of 118.8 and doesn't have a signal on the input so not sure what happened to it.

FCC Data: WQCB696 IOWA METHODIST HOSPITAL
Control Point: 1200 PLEASANT, POLK, DES MOINES, IA

I wonder if the second harmonic of the AC hum isn't opening the receiver?

Well that definitely sounds very possible, what I don't get is how do they not miss this repeater? It is licensed for Mototrbo emissions and part of multiple repeater system most likely on the roof of the hospital. Unreal how this can go un-noticed for weeks.

I received an email reply from the hospital and they claim it's not their repeater they checked into it and even powered down their equipment and the buzzing transitions continued. This would a good exercise for the ham to DX hunt this one.

It is gone, off the air now for a week or two, wonder who turned it off and what did they have to say about why it has been on all these months continuously. I am glad I was scanning around the 464MHz band searching for business repeaters downtown and found this one to be a NUISANCE while scanning.

The hum disappeared on the 20th and so far hasn't come back. Now if 451.250 and 461.150 would go off the air scanning downtown would be possible again.

Cool, I will be down there scanning Monday myself. I have fun scanning while waiting for my wife to finish her business down town.
