Iowa City Monitoring

Does anyone know if it is possible to monitor the Iowa City trunked system as far north as North Liberty?

Should not be a problem, but may need an 800mhz antenna like the radio shack model
20-283. What radio and antenna are you using ?

I haven't decided yet, but most likely a RadioShack Pro-94 handheld. I do have an 800mhz antenna I can use if it makes much of a difference over the stock antenna. I'm looking at setting up an online feed from a condo up that way.

Last Saturday on my way home from work i pasted through North Liberty with my pro 97 with a rs 800 rubberduck antenna and was able to pickup Iowa city trunk system all the way to Solon. I however did notice some weak areas in North Liberty.
So i would try to get your antenna as high as possible.
