Default Status of KSCIS in Johnson/Wyandotte ?

Has there been any movement to get the system up to par in Johnson Co and KCK? Or is it already up to par and they are not using it for another reason??

I'm not sure how the system exactly is coming along but they may be waiting for JOCO to come along with their transition. I know that they haven't been using it is because the reception is terrible up there in the kc metro. They were having a lot of problems with troopers hearing dispatch and viseversa...

There are still plans to fill the gap in coverage that came when KDOT didn't put a tower site downtown as planned years ago (the original site was supposed to be on top of KU Med Center- but they put in a helo pad instead).

There are two projects underway that should enhance coverage in that area. The first is the Leavenworth County simulcast system that will increase coverage through all the counties that surround it- the other is KDOT is installing a site on tower space that Johnson County is donating along I-35 in the Brush Creek valley.

Once these are done, I think you will see more use of the system.
