I just plugged it back in a few days ago but I guess things are so quiet around here that it is hard to tell if the thing is working like it should. I pick up a few things here and there but mostly it is very very quiet. I'm hoping someone could help me out with a couple of questions.
1. Is the area around here really quiet or should I be concerned that my scanner isn't working properly?
2. I really enjoyed listening to the highway patrol when I lived in Salina. There was almost always something going on. Will my scanner that I have now still pick up the highway patrol frequencies or am I going to need a new scanner?

NEW SCANNER TIME!
Wilson, Neosho, Mongomery, Labette, Crawford, and Bourbon Counties seem to be the leaders in the digital switch-over. I keep hearing more and more coming out of the area over the expanding P-25 State system and many of the local agencies in that area seems to be early buy-ins. Personally, I think they are on the correct path too and wished my area would be more "open-minded" to change. (yes, I know, locally allocated $$ has a lot to do with it also...) Take a look at the KSICS system in the database.
Be prepared for a bit of sticker shock though. APCO Project-25 Digital enabled scanners are way more expensive than the basic scanner you are probably used to ($450+) But then they also do way more neat things!
and BTW, Welcome to the RR board....
