On previous RS models, they called that "Open" and "Closed" trunking modes. On the Pro-106, with its "object oriented programming," you can also do it. Enter ALL of the talkgroups you want to listen to. In the Glogal Parameters section set the TGRP Ignore to "Yes." This should effectively "lock-out" all other talkgroups except the ones you programed in. The downside is that, I believe, this method also locks-out ANY other talkgroups other than those you have programmed in on ANY trunked system you have on the scanner. I'm not sure if it is scanlist specific, trunked object specific, or truely global to all trunked objects.
If you are using WIN500 programming software there is a tab for global parameters. I believe you can also set up each individual Trunked Object to ignore or not a wildcard hit. I don't have the software with me at work, so I can't check it. I don't use mine that way so I haven't tied it to see if it will work, but that seems to be the intent in the manual. I may have to try this over the weekend. I've been thinking about spliting my scanlist up for Wichita/SG County. One just for Law Enforcement, another just for Fire/EMS, and a third for everything. In that scenerio, I would need two scanlists with TGRP Ingore set to "Yes" and the third one set to "No" so that it will pick up new and unmapped talkgroups.
If you get it done before the weekend and if it seems to work, post here so I can see if I can do it also.....
