Question U.S. 40 throught Wallace and Logan Counties

Hi all,
I will be traveling through Wallace and Logan Counties on US 40. I have searched the forums and can't find what I am looking for. I am interested in Fire/EMS Comms. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

Steve

Wallace County may very well dispatch Fire/EMS off the Sheriff's channels (several of the smaller counties in NW Kansas do that). I don't know for sure, because I'm from just north of there, and never monitored Wallace County. I did monitor Logan County, and unless they've changed in the last few years, the database information should be correct.

EDIT: Just for grins (and because I'm bored at work), I took a look at the FCC licenses for Wallace County. There are no other licenses for Wallace County that fit for Fire/EMS. Wallace was on UHF forever until a few years ago when they transitioned (Sheriff) to VHF-High band in order to communicate with everyone around them. Plug in the old UHF channel (453.400) and see if there is any traffic on it. Fire may be using it, but more likely they will be on the Sheriff's Dispatch channel. Please post here after your trip and let me know what you find...that area's kind of remote as far as monitoring goes, so it doesn't get updated often. If you have the ability to grab CTCSS codes, note what codes they are using as well. THANKS!!!!!

In any event, when traveling through eastern CO/western KS, it doesn't hurt to monitor local law repeaters, because they will often broadcast fire/EMS calls to the on-duty law enforcement units as well. Happy monitoring.

Thanks for the info, it is more helpful than one of the other replies I recieved.

I will post info on what I hear after I get back home.

Thanks again.

Steve

BTW, I did the same thing with the FCC search and the county pages in the DB.
