I've used the HP for around a year now. Mobile and table-top. Other than the simulcast issue; the speaker is not very loud. Something to keep in mind if the vehicle one is using has a lot of ambient noise. A line out to the AUX in a modern vehicle fixes this problem. Another problem is the unit doesn't fit well in cup holders. I use a mountek gps mount that I "modified" to fit the HP-1. The mountek has a wedge mount that fits into most standard cd radio system slots. I added velcro and rubber bands. Rather ghetto, yet works well.

Overheard Eudora Township Fire (Douglas County) calling Johnson County on TG 30101 (ECC Main) shortly before 3 p.m. today.

I haven't seen many specifics on Douglas County's P25 plans, other than sometime this year. I've seen reports saying they are building a simulcast system using KSICS and another report saying Douglas County's "new digital radio system linked with Johnson County."
